Characters

The low poly characters for our animation are all setup. Here are m,y little beauties except for the sweet potato which is disturbing. The tomato is my favorite but looks a bit mentally challenged. Next stage is texturing.

Characters:

Tomato - something went wrong with the eyes
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Sweet Potato
Beetroot

Animated test

We placed bones inside our mages for animating. I used over the top animating so that the sever stretching that showed, would be easily fixed and would cover any small stretching.

Gunslinger Texture

My new texture that a did for my Mage model.

Animation Group Scene

finished scene for our group animation project.

I went for a stiff movement theme due to the clunky-ness of the character and also its robotic nature.

Animation Group Assessment Progress

Roughly half way through my animation for our group assessment. I've found that my animation skills have improved over the 6 weeks with help from the lecturers and some students. I am now debating whether or not to specialize in Animation or 3D Modelling.  Anyway the above picture shows the animation project half complete. The blue square I used to monitor each footfall when the character moves. It's been really helpful and accelerated my animation time.

BeeBoy Render

We were tasked with animating this character in a way that showed a jump cycle, weight movement and standing up from a sitting position. This character reminded me of the robots in the movie Dodge ball. With this in mind I decided to create a dodge ball scene. I finished the animation and showed it to some class mates to get their opinion.  Cody pointed out that the flight of the ball after impact was unrealistic so this morning I took on his advice and changed the overall animation. Watching the new animation I am happy that Cody pointed out the unrealistic side of the animation.

Past week/s work

Here is my composition project scene. I could not use After Effects to save my own life, and I found that none of the tutorials where of much help. I decided then to research on Youtube how to import video files into 3ds Max and the above is the final product. There are some things in life we are not meant to do and After Effects is one of those things for me.

Unwrapping via Pelt

I am unhappy with my gunslinger model due to my problematic uvs. I have decided to look into pelt unwrapping and will hopefully fully re-unwrap and texture my model by 9am tomrrow.

I have attached for anyone interested in the process.
